[Georges RICARD-CORDINGLEY (1873-1939 in Cannes), painter.] 5 letters signed "Robert" addressed to him. 15 pp. in-8 and in-12. Cannes, June-July 1920. Letters illustrated with 4 fine watercolors (+ 2 ink drawings) and a self-portrait in wash (on separate sheet), addressed to his nephew Georges Ricard-Cordingley and his niece Suzanne Giraud-Teulon. According to a note, they are from "Uncle Robert Cordingley", son of Sir Thomas Cordingley, and Georges' uncle. Anecdotes about his life in Cannes, at his nephew's house while traveling, and on the Riviera. "About George's studio, suddenly during the night it occurred to me that I had not seen a single painting or study. I think that Georges has put them away somewhere. I had predicted that the heat would return, I see from your letters that you have good weather. Here it is very hot and humid, not many people in the streets, except that all day long we see the mayor in his carriage with black horses and his coachman with an Indian helmet and a large white helmet [...]".
