François-Joseph baron BOSIO (Monaco 1768-1845), Monegasque sculptor, member of the Institute; he sculpted the monument to Louis XIV on the Place des Victoires. - Autograph letter signed to "monsieur le juge" about a mahogany bed. 2 pp. in-4. 1818. - Autograph letter signed to Eugène de Monglave, 1 p. in-4, 1834, refusing to join the Historical Institute that the latter had just founded. "My tastes, my way of living independent of all things, prevent me from having the honor of being part of your interesting and honorable historical institution []". - Signed letter. 1 p. in-4. 1836. "I know how kind and benevolent you have been to me, concerning my little nymph Salmacis that I presented to the King and of which S.M. deigned to be pleased [] " [now in the Louvre museum]. 2 engravings and a facsimile of a letter from Bosio are attached.
