Pierre-Henri-Hippolyte BODARD (1755-1826),... - Lot 10 - Conan Belleville Hôtel d'Ainay
Pierre-Henri-Hippolyte BODARD (1755-1826), physician and botanist, pupil of Jussieu, author of works of medical botany, in particular on the substitution of native plants for exotic ones. Autograph letter signed to Count Louis-Gabriel-Auguste d'Andigné de Mayneuf des Alliers (1763-1839), deputy of Maine-et-Loire. 2 pp. in-4, headed "Botanique médicale comparée" with his name and titles. Paris, March 9, 1820. He asks for support to raise his annual gratuity to 2400 francs. "I will add that I would consider myself the happiest of men if I could obtain a salary of 2400 f. because that would put me in a position to give more latitude to my experimental correspondence in all the departments, and to give the proper development to the most beautiful of causes, that of humanity and the indigent patient []".
