REVOLUTION - STATES GENERAL. Pierre Charles Laurent de VILLEDEUIL (1742-1828), controller general of Finances and secretary of State to the King's Household. 2 printed documents signed 3 times by Villedeuil and annotated by him. 36 pp. in-4. Versailles, January 24, 1789. Mottling affecting the bottom of the pages; important crack in the left margin with tears of the first sheets. Paris, imprimerie royale, 1789. Instructions pour la convocation des États généraux de 1789. Two rare printed documents signed 3 times by Laurent de Villedeuil (autograph signatures), Secretary of State of the King's household (he was the last), and bearing in the margin, annotations eight times opposite certain articles. "Règlement fait par le Roi pour l'exécution des Lettres de convocation, du 24 janvier 1789", consisting of a preamble and 51 articles. Followed by a second: "Etat, par ordre alphabétique, des bailliages royaux & des sénéchaussées royales des Pays d'élections, qui députeront directement ou indirectement aux Etats-généraux; avec le nombre de leurs députations, chaque députation composée d'un Député du Clergé, d'un de la Noblesse & de deux du Tiers-état". Handwritten annotations opposite certain articles: "This article 15 concerns the ecclesiastics engaged in the orders and not possessing benefit". "This article 40 concerns what must be done at the general assembly. Reception of the oath of the deputies and the drafting of the books". Rare documents unfortunately a little damaged.
