English fathers arrived and the students were entrusted to them. Father Verdier then went to evangelize the population throughout the province, within the archconfraternity of the Heart of Mary. "It has been established in Marava for three years now and it is bearing admirable fruit. Before these three years, the number of conversions of pagans hardly amounted to more than 10 or 20 per year. As soon as the archconfraternity was established, this number was doubled. A year later the conversions increased in a noticeable and very consoling way, there were more than 100 and this year 221. But now I am leaving this eastern part of the mission, I was only there two months ago to edify myself and get acquainted with the life of a missionary [] ". He leaves to settle in Palamcoltah and answers at length to the questions of his family.
