MEUSE - [GEOFFROY IV D'APREMONT]. Parchment in plano (61 x 52,5 cm). Ecclesiastical principality of Verdun, January 8, 1341. Brown ink. On verso, mention of the nature of the document: letters of purchase of the towns of Vacherauville, etc. and summary of the act in a later hand in black ink. Minimal loss of text at folds, traces of attachment of 7 seals (some tails are preserved). Handwritten medieval charter, containing the deed of sale by Geoffroy (or Joffroi), lord of Apremont (1305-1375) to his uncle, the bishop of Verdun, Henri d'Apremont (?-1350), of five agricultural villages: Fliney, Vacherauville, Charny, Regneville, Samogneux, with men, material goods and animals. Beautiful and rare charter adorned with three complex manual signatures. Text, in French: "We Joffrois [Joffroi] sire d'Aspremont make known and cognizant to all those who will see and hear these present letters that under us and for our hons have rendered and adquired sell and adcquit and ottro adtenir in the name of depur and leaul vendage to reverend father in God messire trescher and ameit lord and uncle monseigneur Henri d'Aspremont by the grace of God bishop of Verdun for him for his Church and his evesche [] ". For the sum of 1650 livres of good small tournaments and 50 livres of good small tournaments, 1 gros ries [?] tournaments of round silver and 15 small tournaments in good deniers, five agricultural villages: Fliney, Vacherauville, Charny, Regneville, Samogneux, including the men, the material goods and the animals "[] in front of his chapel in the year of the Nativity in current signature by [?] one thousand three hundred and forty-one on the eighth day in January at about midday present discreet and honest masters Colard de Chanlinot archdeacon of la Riviere in the church of Verdun dommenge de Villey official of the court of Verdun and Thierry Deschamps priest priest of Manlinelie [?Nycole de Duignoy priest canon of the church of sainct Nycolat d'Aspremont, Jacomin de Boncourt, and Thierry de Billens [] tesmognages to all the chastellenies above and below specially called and required [] ".
