HÉNAULT, Charles Jean François (1685-1770),... - Lot 47 - Conan Belleville Hôtel d'Ainay
HÉNAULT, Charles Jean François (1685-1770), writer and academician. Autograph manuscript. Mid 18th century. 26 pp. ½ in-folio. Outline of a seemingly unpublished work entitled Histoire et usages de l'Église. In his tiny handwriting, Hénault meticulously details the contents of each page of this monumental work. This sketch, which begins with the Life of Moses, seems unfinished, ending on page 811 with the "conditions called for by Pope Paul 3rd for the concession of the Indult" [Paul III reigned from 1534 to 1549]. Attached 4 manuscripts, unrelated, from Hénault's papers (project to incorporate the companies, copies of letters from Louise de Savoie and Florimont Robertet during the captivity of François 1er, etc.); in total 16 pp. in-folio.
