Geffroy, La Vie Artistique, Paris, 1897: "Like her six little bronze Danseuses, râblées, agiles, charmantes Loïe Fuller aux ailes de chauve-souris, d'une grâce souple, robuste, qui me ravissent. There's a rhythm in each of their poses, there's spirit not only in their alert little heads, in their birdlike eyes, their fine mousey muzzles, their childlike faces where gaiety laughs, but in each of their movements, in their arms that rise, their legs that bend, stretch, their feet that lift the hem of their skirts.
