MARSEILLE. SAINT-JEAN-DU-DÉSERT ? Earthenware circular plate with blue monochrome decoration in the center of a coat of arms within two shields supported by a mask and surmounted by a helmet and lambrequins. Late 17th century - Early 18th century D. 23.2 cm. Chips on the rim and minor shrinkage of the original enamel. The coat of arms is that of Claude Chantre (Chambre), Receiver of the States of Maconnais, and his wife Louise Masson.
