DOUBS. Nicolas PATOUILLET (Salins 1622-1710), Jesuit, friend - Lot 200
DOUBS. Nicolas PATOUILLET (Salins 1622-1710), Jesuit, friend of Bourdaloue. Autograph letter signed to Jean-Étienne Grosez (Arbois 1642-1718), of the Society of Jesus, in Lyon. 3 pp. ½ in-4. Besançon, January 18, 1670. Address on back. Beautiful letter to his fellow Franc-comtois. But let's leave all that. A night's rest is better than a hundred days of glory. In other words, a secluded & unknown life is preferable for me to a hard-working & active life. Everything is preachers in the province, greater in everything than I am [...]".
