AUBE. Large handwritten watercolor plan, 46 x 62 cm, early 1 - Lot 163
AUBE. Large handwritten watercolor plan, 46 x 62 cm, early 19th century (circa 1810). Minor flaws. "Plan du domaine de La Chapelle Saint-Luc", with "légende indicative" and "observations", forming 19 hectares "ou de la mesure du bailliage de Troyes qui étoit de cent perches pour arpent et vingt pieds pour perche quarante-cinq arpents soixante onze perches trois quarts". The estate once included a seigniorial château, now replaced by a seigniorial dwelling with a large main building, a dovecote and a corn mill. The entrance, guarded by a drawbridge, was via a large tree-lined driveway leading to the Chemin des Charrières. However, the manor house was demolished in 1842, and its bridges disappeared at the same time. This plan, enhanced with watercolors, shows the "buildings, courtyard and pond with dwarf tree-lined driveway and ditches to the east", garden, vineyard, groves, poplar plantations, woods with canal, etc., with the surface area of each parcel. As well as other parcels, including details of sales made to M. Gautherin, from year 10 to 1807 [this could possibly refer to Empire general Pierre Edmé Gautherin (Troyes 1770-1851)].
