[François-Pierre LE ROUX (1832-1906), physicist.] Edmond BECQUEREL. Signed autograph manuscript (5 pp. in-folio), 2 signed manuscripts (6 and 2 pp. in-folio) and 3 autograph notes (5 pp. in-folio and in-4). 1875-1878. Erasures and corrections. Important set presenting and defending the work of his former preparator (at the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers), the physicist François-Pierre Le Roux, who later produced the first radiography in France. He had also loaned his laboratory to Pierre and Jacques Curie, who blew it up during a dangerous manipulation. Having made a fortune from his patents, he bought the Château de Villandry. Enclosed is a folder of various documents on Le Roux's work (brochure and handwritten notes).
