[Michael FARADAY]. 4 manuscripts on Faraday's work on phosphorescence, from the archives of Edmond Becquerel. - Autograph envelope from Michael FARADAY addressed to Edmond Becquerel (tears and missing parts) attached to the first page of a reprint of his text on phosphorescence and fluorescence, dated June 17, 1859, published in the Bulletin of the Royal Institution of Great Britain. The text refers to the work of Edmond Becquerel. - Edmond BECQUEREL. Autograph manuscript (draft with corrections), title + 6 pp. ½ in-4. Becquerel's translation of Faraday's text. On the title page, he wrote: "this note is the translation of an account published by Mr. Faraday on the occasion of a lesson given by the physicist at the Royal Institution in London, in which he incorporated the researches of Mr. Edmond Becquerel". - Two clean-up copies, in two different hands, of Becquerel's translation of this text; on one, Edmond Becquerel wrote: "This translation is word for word. We had it redone with the correct French phrases". Passages referring to Becquerel's work were underlined at the time. 7 pp. in-4 and 6 pp. in-folio. - Manuscript of 14 pp. ½ in-4: "Recherches expérimentales sur l'électricité. 24e série. Sur le rapport possible de la pesanteur avec l'électricité par M. Faraday". Translation of Faraday's text with underlined passages and a few corrections or additions in Edmond Becquerel's hand.
