John Traherne MOGGRIDGE (Swansea 1842 - Menton 1874), Englis - Lot 94
John Traherne MOGGRIDGE (Swansea 1842 - Menton 1874), English botanist, entomologist and arachnologist, author of Contributions to the Flora of Mentone and to a winter Flora of the Riviera (1864); he also published works on ant habits. (which has beautiful red flowers, not the blue-purple of the dried variety). At Agay I also found Corrigiola telephüfolia Pourr., which is a new plant for the department; I think C. telephüfolia Pourr. is very well recognized by its panicle of aphylle flowers, and its finger-sized, perennial root [...]".
