Eugène FOURNIER (1834-1884), botanist, fern specialist; more than twenty plants bear his name, and the genus Fourniera was dedicated to him by Bommer. 5 autograph letters signed to Honoré Ardoïno. 11 pp. in-8. Headers of the Société Botanique de France. Paris, 1864-1868. He sends him information on the flora of Sainte-Marguerite for his work on the flora of Provence, and informs him of botanical works in the sale of the Maille library (then of his commissions in this sale). He reports on his research in the herbariums of the Muséum concerning a new plant that Ardoïno had sent to the Société Botanique de France: "I have found nothing that could be compared with the Cytise de Menton, of which I am writing the diagnosis on the second sheet [...]. The Society is most grateful to you for having kindly communicated this interesting find to us in the first place. At your request, I have kept two samples [...]". A final letter is devoted to a report on the extraordinary session of the Botanical Society in Menton.
