Having found himself fortuitously presiding over a meeting of this society, he explains why he has "resolved to be neither president, nor a member of the patronage committee, nor even a simple member of the Society, for the following reasons: M. Roger Dévigne told us that Plato's Atlantis could not be discussed. All scientific observations that do not support it are not worthy of attention. We don't know our ancestors beyond Charlemagne.
