A preserved envelope with stamp and postal marks. Gay mentions a vote at the Institut for which it will be necessary to "neutralize the intrigues of your opponents" as well as many of their fellow scientists: Boussingault, Elie de Beaumont, Becquerel, Dumas, Brongniart, Chevreul, Lionville, Delaunay, Schaeffeld, etc.
