Francesco Saverion de ZELADA (1717-1801), Italian cardinal, - Lot 310
Francesco Saverion de ZELADA (1717-1801), Italian cardinal, secretary of state of the pope. Letter signed to Champion de Cicé, 2 pp. in-4. Rome, April 20, 1791. He sends him the dispensation for the secularization of Father Hilarion Reytier. "You are well aware of the necessity that the persons who leave the cloisters be under the obedience of their legitimate bishops. That is why you will find it stated positively in the concession of grace. I must warn you, however, that the Holy Father absolutely wants such a concession to be null and void whenever one dares to put religious at the mercy of someone who is intruding and without a mission, who dishonors the Church.
