"From the foundry of Creusot", 20 thermidor year 12. Header and magnificent vignette emblematic of the forges, signed Beugnet. Commendation certificate for a marine clerk employed at the Creusot foundry. - Manuscript of a "Report [to the Committee of Mechanical Arts] on different machines presented by Mr. Révillon, clockmaker-mechanic in Macon". 6 pp. folio, late 18th or early 19th century. "M. Révillon presented to the Society two bells or machines to beat the piles, plus another machine intended to pull them out, and he added an explanatory memorandum at the end of which is a report of the admission jury written by M. de Latombe, chief engineer of the department of Saône-et-Loire []". - 10 handwritten documents from the 17th and 18th centuries, various, concerning the Baron de Longepierre (tutor of the Count of Toulouse and secretary to the command of the Duke of Berry), a long letter from Fougerette (Autun, 1772, about his family Pillot de Fougerettes), the communes of Varennes and Saint-Pierre de Varennes (1660-1667), as well as Varenotte (1653-1673). - Mgr Jean-Baptiste François Pitra (1812-1889), cardinal and theologian born in Champforgueil in Saône-et-Loire, librarian of the Vatican Library, bishop of Frascati. 16 signed letters to various correspondents, 1858-1878, 23 pp. of various sizes. Daremberg, several to "monseigneur," to "Eminentissime Princeps" [Cardinal Pecci], some addressed to him and apostilled, especially to obtain an audience with the Pope. - Eighteenth-century advertisement for a merchant from Chalons-sur-Saône, Jaufroid, who sells all sorts of fabrics and "barks & buys old braids & dresses" + 2 letters from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
