A total of 28 L.A.S. or P.A.S., 18th-early 19th century. 8 letters from the great bibliophile Maret de Charmoy (1767/1820) written from Chablis (1810-1820), 3 from his mother (Dec. 1788-Feb. 1789): "We are waiting for the letters of convocation [of the Estates General]. It is to be hoped that they will be stated in such a way as to stifle all seeds of division and all pretexts for malice. The present circumstances thwart all my projects and disconcert all my attempts: I only aspire, however, to leave this country where I am ruining myself and where I am making no progress [...]", etc. - President BOUHIER (Dijon 1643/1746), magistrate, historian and scholar from Burgundy, member of the French Academy. Piece signed 6 times. 6 pp. in-4. Dijon, April 8, 1710. "Articles proposed for the marriage of messire François Paul de Vouvray, knight, marquis of the said place [...] brigadier of the armies of the king, on the one hand and damoiselle Thérèse Bouhier, minor daughter of messire Bénigne Bouhier, knight, adviser of the king in his councils, president à mortier at the parliament of Burgundy and of dame Claire de la Thoison his wife, proceeding from their (?) of the said lady his mother [...] and of messire Jean Bouhier knight, adviser of the King in his councils president mortier in the said parliament, his brother [...] ".
