Mycology. Jules de Seynes (1833-1912), botanist and mycologist, founding member of the Botanical Society of France. Set of autograph manuscripts, notes and original drawings. Circa 1878-1879]. Important files of various formats. Small folds and tears of use, without gravity. A set of archives gathering his research and correspondence from Jules de Seynes on the fungi causing the chestnut and mulberry tree disease. The set includes : - 5 folders containing various autograph drafts relating to chestnut and mulberry trees (20 pp. in-folio + numerous sheets in-8, erasures and corrections). - various notes and autograph cards (ca. 16 pp. in-8 and in-4). - a handwritten map of the Cévennes where there is a diseased forest. - about 45 sketches and drawings in pencil and watercolour depicting the manifestations of the disease and various microscopic views of the fungi. - scientific correspondence addressed to Jules de Seynes, concerning exchanges of memoirs, discussions and communications on the subject, from Professor Lagarde, fellow scientist in Montpellier (4 L.A.S.), Professor Gibelli, scientific correspondent in Bologna (8 L.A.S.), Gustave Soulier (3 L.A.S.), etc.
