One volume, in-8 square (175 x 142 mm) of 50 pages, fully bound in burgundy morocco. Spine with 5 ribs, gilt head, gilt fillets on the cups, decorated and gilt covers, counter - covers dressed in blue morocco with a large red and gold frame. Guards lined with burgundy moiré silk. The first dish bears a large gilded metallic monogram (M. T. C.). The volume is inserted in a case with the initials and name of "Roux Libraire à Lyon" dressed in burgundy skin. The interior is made of felt and beige silk. Binding signed Kauffmann. Box enriched with two large illuminations (about 21 x 16 cm), a third very beautiful recto-verso (about 19 x 16 cm), and 4 pious illuminated pictures. "This work was fortunately completed in Lyon on Sept. VIII. L'an de N. S. MDCCCLXXXVII sur les dessins du R. P. J. Hervier S. M. par J. A. Henry fabricant, A. Roux libraire éditeur, Lyon" at the end. 50 woven pages. In 1886 we had the idea to make on Jacquard loom, in Lyon, a prayer book entirely woven. The 50 pages decorated with Gothic letters and miniatures after the illuminations of the 14th to 16th century required two years of work. It is said that 50 copies of this book were woven. Decorated with 4 illustrations, including 3 full-page miniatures, numerous ornate lettering. Text in Gothic characters, in black silk on silver silk, on two columns framed with richly decorated borders of scrolls. Read Paul Marais' study, woven prayer books - Bulletin du Bibliophile 1889 - pp. 163 to 166.
